Hull FC will be marking the 15th anniversary of their memorable 2005 Challenge Cup Final victory this Thursday with a special ‘watchalong’ event with heroes of the day Paul Cooke, Richard Whiting and Ewan Dowes.
Thursday will mark 15 years to the day since John Kear’s men defied all the odds to down hot-favourites Leeds Rhinos at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, with the nail-biting 25-24 victory being widely regarded as one of the most thrilling cup finals in the competition’s long and illustrious history.
The Black & Whites will be marking the anniversary across the club website and social media throughout the day with interviews with the stars that played that day, video clips from former players and other content from the day that saw Hull claim their first major trophy in almost a quarter of a century.
The anniversary will culminate with a special ‘watchalong’ event with the three players, which can be watched as live on the club’s official Facebook page from 6.30pm, as well as being made available for free via hullfclive.tv, brought to you in association with Jacuzzi®.
Cooke, who famously scored the late winning try in South Wales, will be joined by former Hull stars and fans-favourites Whiting and Dowes over Zoom to relive and reminisce about the game and discuss their thoughts and memories during a special version of extended highlights from the game.
Supporters will be recall their own special memories with each other during the live stream in the comments from a fixture which many Black & White fans deem to be one of the most exciting in recent history.
