Brett Hodgson has explained that Josh Reynolds is settling in well to life in the UK, and says his teammates are already enjoying being around the new recruit.

The former Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs man arrived in the UK two weeks ago and is already over a week into his pre-season campaign with his new club.

Hodgson, who was assistant coach at the Tigers during Reynolds stint at the club, couldn’t be happier with what he has seen so far from his fellow Australian.

Speaking to hullfc.com, Hodgson said: “He’s settling in really well. Josh is a really likable character and the boys are enjoying being around him.

“He brings a level of energy on the field which is as good as I’ve seen on both sides of the world.

“His enthusiasm feeds into the team and I’ve no doubt that the players are enjoying linking up with him.”

The Black & Whites’ head coach also explained his delight to see the half-back already putting his ideas to the coaching team about how his experience and capabilities can be best used to benefit his teammates around him.

“I really like that he is doing that. All the players know that they have the opportunity to come and speak to us as coaches to help try and implement what works for them on the field.

“What we don’t want to do is be a robotic team that only uses certain structures during games. We want to play what is in front of us and be able to adapt to that and players’ certain strengths.”
