It’s Members Monday, and it’s time to shine the light on this week’s Member of the Week!

This week’s Member of the Week is Davy Litten – Academy player and student of the Hull FC College.

Young half-back Litten, cousin of former Black & White hooker Jez, has had a whirlwind year – having attended a Hull FC college open day just 15 months ago, the 17-year old is now training with the first-team in pre-season.

Speaking to hullfc.com on his whirlwind journey so far, Litten said: “I originally applied for Bishop Burton College but they made me aware of the Hull FC College, so I went down to one of the open days and luckily for me it has worked out exactly how I’d have wanted it to.

“I’d say to anybody who is just leaving school and are wondering what to do next, if you want to continue your education but still be involved in sport, it is the best place to be.

“The coaches make it a really professional environment, and they make it a real possibility for you to push on and earn an Academy contract. Or if that’s not for you and you want to follow a different path in sport, they support you to do that just as much.

“We have a good level of banter and that means there is a really good atmosphere around the place, but we know when to take it serious. The coaches understand and support that kind of environment.”

Litten also touched on his excitement to have earned an Academy contract for the next two-years, and hopes he can be within the first-team on a permanent basis soon after.

“I’m really excited – all the boys can’t wait to be back. It’s a case of us just being patient for now but as long as we all do our best in terms of training at home, I’m confident in what we can do as a group. And by the end of my two-year contract with the Academy, I’d love to be able to say I’ve earned a first-team contract. But there is a lot of hard-work to do before then.”

Nominate Your Member of the Week

We are on the lookout for members who have gone the extra mile to support someone during these challenging times.

Perhaps they are one of our amazing nurses caring for Coronavirus patients in hospital. Or they could be helping a local charity, a key-worker, a care home assistant…

Maybe you know somebody who has helped another person with their mental health during this challenging year.

If you know a Hull FC member who has stood out from the rest, you can nominate them to be featured in Members Monday on hullfc.com in the new year!

Last year we featured some of our key-worker heroes. You can check them out here

To nominate a Member of the Week, please email comms@hullfc.com with the following details:

  • Tell us their full name and give us a few details about their job role.
  • Let us know what inspiring work they’ve carried out this year, and tell us why you have nominated them.
  • Attach some photos of them either at work, or supporting the Black & Whites.

We’ll pick out some of the best ones to be featured, so keep an eye out on hullfc.com every Monday!
