Jordan Lane has been named as Hull FC’s Player of the Year for 2024.

The back-rower, who captained the side on multiple occasions this season, was undoubtedly one of FC’s top performers in 2024, missing just one game throughout the season with an impressive 1999 minutes on the field, and joins a highly-esteemed group to have won the club’s prestigious David Topliss Memorial Trophy.

Lane was also one of Betfred Super League’s leading tacklers, coming in at 9th with 820 for the season.

Lane follows in the footsteps of fellow Hull-born winners Brad Fash, Scott Taylor, Danny Houghton and Lee Radford over the past two decades.

His efforts away from the playing field were also recognised, having been awarded the Johnny Whiteley MBE Community Player of the Year Award – Lane’s efforts across the community were commendable throughout the year, best emphesised by his involvement in the club’s visit to Beverley Parklands Care Home as part of our 2024 Charity Jersey launch with Alzheimer’s Society, as well as committing countless hours to other club events and promotional appearances.

An impressive debut season in Black & White was also recognised for Herman Ese’ese, receiving the recognition of his teammates and the supporters with the Players’ Player, and Mezz UK Supporters Player of the Year awards.

Ese’ese was arguably one of the competition’s best performing forwards during 2024, despite a poor season overall for the Airlie Birds, ranked as the highest for offloads across the league, and the seventh highest for tackle busts at 124.

After picking up the James Kirkwood Academy Player of the Year award in 2023, Logan Moy claimed the Hull FC Vice Presidents Young Player of the Year award in 2024 for a stellar first campaign in the senior game.

Meanwhile, it was back-rower Will Kirby who took home this year’s academy award – a season in which the 18-year old made his senior debut and played a key role in helping Hull’s U18s side reach another Academy Championship semi-final.

Academy teammate Callum Kemp, who made his senior debut for the Airlie Birds on Saturday, received the recognition of his young teammates by picking up the Academy Players’ Player of the Year award.

Young back-rower Evie Sexton was recognised for an incredible season in which she scored 29 tries in 13 games in Women’s League One, picking up the Women’s Player of the Year award her first season competing in the senior game.

The Disability Player of the Year award went to PDRL player Corey Davies, who was nominated for the Young Achiever Award at the Disability Sport Yorkshire Awards, and named as England PDRL’s Youth Ambassador.

Away from the playing field, Hull FC’s Finance Manager Angie Molyneux was awarded the Martin Merrikin Clubman Award. Angie has served the club for over a decade, often without recognition – the first in, and last out of the club offices every day, Angie also continually offers key pastoral support to staff members across the club.

Kit Assistant Chris Bratton, who celebrated his 70th birthday earlier this year, was awarded the club’s Volunteer of the Year award – Chris, the longest serving member of club staff, first joined the club in 1990 and has been involved with the Black & Whites ever since.
