The team news is in for this afternoon’s Betfred Challenge Cup Sixth Round clash against Castleford Tigers, brought to you in association with Jadan Press.
The Black & Whites are aiming to make it to their ninth consecutive Quarter-Final this afternoon when they take on Andy Last’s side at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle, as well as continuing some fine form that has seen FC successful in their last three matches.
Smith has made five changes to the side that lined-up against Wakefield last weekend, with Brad Fash recovering from illness to start, alongside Tex Hoy and Joe Cator who both return from injury.
Nick Staveley is named on the bench to make his senior debut for the Airlie Birds having impressed on dual-registration at Newcastle in recent weeks. Fellow young forward Will Gardiner also lines up on the bench.
The quintet replace Scott Taylor, who serves his one-match suspension, Davy Litten, who drops out with an ankle sprain, Ligi Sao who misses out with a knee injury, Darnell McIntosh, and Joe Lovodua, with the latter named as the 18th man.
Mitieli Vulikijapani (knee) and Charlie Severs (shoulder) remain unavailable through injury.
