Hull FC’s Academy fixtures for the 2021 season have been confirmed, brought to you in association with G&J Staffing.
The announcement marks a highly significant moment for the nine clubs from the Betfred Super League and three from the Championship involved.
The fixtures begin on the weekend of May 14, with the Black & Whites opening their account for the year away to Wakefield Trinity on Saturday 15th May.
There will be no Academy Championship this season, after an agreement between the RFL and Heads of Youth at the clubs that the priority should be maximising playing and development opportunities for young players, after the loss of the bulk of the 2020 season as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, the competition has reverted to Under-19s in 2021 – again, a practical response to the impact of Covid-19, as that has led to the postponement of the Reserve Grade competition which had been introduced for 2020 and involved the Academy becoming a competition for Under-18s.
Nonetheless, despite no official competition in 2021, the academy side face the prospect of some exiting clashes between May and September, including exciting clashes against Wigan (away) and Hull KR (home) in July, before a challenging end to the season with away trips to face London and Leeds.
Venue details will be confirmed in due course, while all fixture are subject to change.
