With the Black & Whites originally scheduled to face Wigan Warriors this weekend, we look back at five of our most memorable clashes in recent years.

2016: Wigan 16-30 Hull FC

The Black & Whites claimed one of their most impressive away victories of recent seasons back in May 2016 as they beat the Super League champions to be on their own turf.

A memorable breakaway try from Jamie Shaul spoilt Sam Tomkins much anticipated return from the NRL, while a 40 metre break from former-Warriors forward Scott Taylor was the highlight.

Famously, Frank Pritchard spent the game in the stand with the travelling Hull FC supporters!

2017: Hull FC 39-26 Wigan

A thrilling clash against the then reigning champions last season saw the Black & Whites walk away with the two points at the KCOM Stadium, for the first time in nine attempts.

Jamie Shaul was the star of the show as Hull beat Wigan at home in 2017 with a spectacular solo try.

Steve Michaels bagged a brace for the hosts, but the highlight of the afternoon was Jamie Shaul’s spectacular solo effort. His chip and chase over the Warriors defence was a contender for the Super League’s try of the season.

2016: Hull FC 16-12 Wigan

Hull FC earned their first appearance at Wembley in three years as they defeated the Warriors in a thrilling contest in the Challenge Cup semi-finals at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium.

Tries from Fetuli Talanoa and Steve Michaels got the Airlie Birds over the line and back to the national stadium in one of the tightest contests the competition had seen for many years.

2019: Wigan 22-23 Hull FC

The Black & Whites ended a baron run of winless results in empatic style back in February 2019, claiming the first ever Golden Point victory in Super League history.

After leading for most of the match, a last second try from the hosts at the DW Stadium looked to have broken Hull’s hearts, but Zak Hardaker’s missed conversion sent the game to Golden Point.

The ever reliable Marc Sneyd was on hand to slot over the one-pointer sending the travelling FC fans into delirium in the away end.

2017: Hull FC 18-14 Wigan

2016 saw Hull FC end their Wembley hoodoo against the Warrington Wolves, and in case anybody had thought that result was a fluke, the Black & Whites did it again in 2017 to retain the cup for the first time in their history.

Hull retained the Challenge Cup for the first time in their history in 2017, beating Wigan 18-14 at Wembley.
