Inclusion

We are proud to celebrate the diversity of our vibrant community...

At Hull FC Community Foundation, we are proud to celebrate the diversity of our vibrant community whilst continuously promoting societal cohesion.

Regularly adapting our activities and developing our projects to meet community needs, we place a key focus on ensuring all people within our community feel valued and included.

There is a clear aim to combat stereotypical views and behaviours using the power of community and youth voice, leaving a lasting impact for the future of Hull & East Riding.

We welcome anybody who would like to get involved in our sessions, regardless of gender, age and ability.

Learning Disability Rugby League

Learning Disability Rugby League (LDRL) is an adaption of the sport developed to allow those with learning disabilities to enjoy the game of Rugby League.

The LDRL activity is part of a wider strategic partnership between Community Integrated Care, the Betfred Super League and the RFL, which aims to develop and enhance the community programmes provided by the sport to people with care and support needs.

LDRL is played on a quarter-pitch with seven-a-side teams. The games are non-contact and follow Tag Rugby League rules. Teams are allowed two able-bodied players who will play as facilitators, to ensure the match is both free-flowing and well-balanced.h2. Your title here…

LDRL activities are delivered with a view to developing the participants skills and confidence while providing new challenges and opportunities.

Boasting one of the largest LDRL teams in the LD Super League, the Hull FC team regularly attend national LDSL festivals where they play against other teams in a non-competitive environment.

Physical Disability Rugby League

Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL) is a full contact version of the game adapted for participants with a physical disability who want to access a running version of Rugby League.

Domestic PDRL, in the UK, is played on a 50m X 100m pitch and is a nine-a-side version of Rugby League. Teams include a minimum of seven physically disabled players and two non-disabled players who act as facilitators, although this is not a prerequisite, during the game.

The game includes full contact tackles, but players who have a disability that restricts them from safely playing full contact are permitted to play Touch RL tackle rules. On the field these players are identified by wearing red shorts. There is a maximum of two physically disabled players on the field of play at any one-time playing Touch RL rules.

The overriding emphasis on domestic playing offers is creating a fun opportunity to make lasting memories and allow people with a wide range of impairments to benefit from all social impact aspects of RL.

Games are played in a festival format typically playing 2 games at a festival, each being 25 minutes in length.

Adult Sensory & Carer Support

Our Adult Sensory and Carer Support sessions offer a range of physical and social activities for adults with sensory needs and their carers.

The session will consist of a variety of different activities that encourage movement alongside music to encourage enjoyment for all.

Also run by the Community Foundation, people with SEND requirements are offered the opportunity to get involved in some light fitness exercises, promoting getting the body in motion.

Match Day Sensory Room

The Community Foundation offers a sound proof, spacious room at Hull FC’s home games for people with sensory needs.

Sensory rooms at stadiums allow individuals to experience all of the highs and lows of a match in a calming environment.

The sensory room at the MKM Stadium is a specially designed space for those with sensory processing issues to attend a match in a calm environment, offering a full, unrestricted view of the pitch behind soundproof glass, creating a quiet, safe and controlled environment to watch the game.

Bookings for the Sensory Room can be made by calling 01482 337520 or by emailing health@hullfc.com.
