The Hull FC Community Foundation have received a grant of £2,404.27 from the Tribune Trust in order to purchase technology to support their community initiatives.
The funding will be used to purchase 11 Samsung Galaxy tablet devices which can be used at the Bonus Youth Performance Centre by participants within the Foundation’s youth focused crime reduction programmes, including ‘Inspiring Futures’
The tablets will be used to deliver group mental resilience sessions to participants using pre-recorded material from professional players and health partners, focusing on coping skills, stress management and relaxation techniques.
They will also allow participants to research topics relating to education and healthy lifestyles with a view to promoting aspirations and positive health and wellbeing.
As well as the technology helping their digital software skills, participants will utilise video technology to record their activities that they complete within sessions and review them in order to support their personal development, as well are recording their own thoughts, emotions and experiences that can be used within their personal goal setting work.

“The tablets purchased will be a key asset to the participants and help them progress through the programme which ultimately looks to improve the lives of young people across the city, keeping them away from crime by preventative education.”
