Hull FC’s Centre of Excellence has introduced two new degree-level courses for the 2021/22 academic year at the Hull FC College – perfect for those interested in a career in sport.
From September 2021, the Centre of Excellence will deliver a Sport & Exercise Science (Coaching Science) programme at both HNC and HND levels.
Run in partnership with the Virtual Learning UK (VLUK), both courses give students a perfect mix of classroom-based learning and first-hand experience.
Students will be guided through the course content in a mixture of seminars and workshops at the clubs Centre of Excellence, with practical elements also taking place at the Elite Performance Centre.
In addition to the course content, students will gain coaching experience on the Foundation’s community programmes across Hull & East Riding: including national programmes like Sky Try, Inspiring Futures, Half-Term Sports Camps and Health & Wellbeing sessions.
Furthermore, there will be the opportunity to undertake further sporting qualifications such as RFL courses, First Aid courses and Health & Safety qualifications.
The courses are open to anybody of at least 18 years of age as of 1 September 2021.
On completion of the two-year course, students will have the opportunity to undertake a further year of study to turn their qualification into a full BSc (Honours) degree.
Potential career options are vast, with previous students taking on roles in PE teaching, sports and/or football coaching and Sports Management & Administration to name a few.
