Adam Swift has reviewed the Black & Whites’ victory over Wakefield last night, as Hull put in another defensively resilient display to claim the win.

The winger bagged his first try of the season in the game as FC made it four games unbeaten in the league at the start of the new season.

Hull’s other tries came through Andre Savelio and Carlos Tuimavave, with the latter bagging the winning score in the closing stages of the match.

Speaking after the match, Swift said: “That was a tough game out there tonight, we had to work really hard and defend well for each other.

“We knew Wakefield would offer a tough test for us and that’s what we got, defending well for long periods, and we were maybe a little bit lucky to come away with the points there in the second half.

“As has been said previously, we’ve had a real focus on defence over the last few months and that is really starting to show during the matches now – we let them in three times, but one is an intercept and another is from a charge down. We’re really pleased with where we are at defensively.

He continued: “We’re loving things at the moment, we’ve got a really good team spirit and a happy camp here.

“Brett’s come in with some amazing ideas, especially defensively, and that’s showing on the pitch with the way we’ve performed so far

“It’s hard to say whether we’d have won that game last year, we’re just focused on the squad we’ve got this year and that coaching staff we have this year and enjoying the way we’re playing.”
