Work Placements Available With Centre of Excellence’s Fitness Course

Work placements are available as part of the Centre of Excellence’s new fitness course

The Hull FC Centre of Excellence is continuing to recruit Year 14 students for their brand-new fitness programme in the new academic year, aimed at those hoping to work in fitness-related employment, with work placements available at some of the areas leisure and fitness centres as part of the course.

The course, which is a one year programme specifically aimed at those in the Year 14 education age group (born between 01/09/03 and 31/08/04) included a Level 2 Active IQ qualification in Fitness Instruction, and a Level 3 Active IQ qualification in Personal Training.

Upon completion, learners will become fully qualified personal trainers, allowing further career opportunities including becoming fitness instructions, and gym management.

The course will include a training and match programme, as well as learning the key principals of health, fitness and exercise, and well as how to support clients and plan and instruct exercise sessions.

Learners will also get the opportunity of work experience in a gym, and learn the importance of health and safety in a fitness environment.

Work placements are now available at Woodford and Ennerdale Leisure Centres, as well as at the Costello Stadium, with placements to take place alongside your studies within the Centre of Excellence.

These aspects will set learners up for a career in the fitness industry, helping develop a knowledge of the human body, as well as communication and customer service skills.

Leaners who also wish to move on into further education upon completion of the course will also have the chance to do so, with the chance to move onto courses including a Level 3 Active IQ in sports massage, as well as Level 4 courses in strength and conditioning, advanced personal training and exercise referal.

The course will be lead by Hull FC Centre of Excellence Strength & Conditioning coach Kieran Smith, who is currently involved with both our Academy and Scholarship side.
