The Hull FC Community Foundation has partnered with The Rix Group to give a Hull FC fanatic the surprise of a lifetime!

Victory Conversions, part of The Rix Group, reached out to the Hull FC Community Foundation to work together on surprising Wes with a brand-new, custom-made Black & White themed van.

Wes, who has Cerebral Palsy, got a surprise visit from his favourite Hull FC first-team player, Jayden Okunbor, to deliver the keys to the van alongside representatives from Victory Conversions earlier this month.

The Ford Transit van is equipped with state-of-the-art adapted facilities, a slick Hull FC themed livery, and some personal touches for Wes himself, including a private registration plate!

Oliver Shaw at Victory Conversions said: “It’s certainly safe to say that Wes was absolutely blown away with his new van, and of course meeting his favourite Hull FC player, Jayden Okunbor, made the occasion even more memorable.

“Wes is a larger-than-life character and he is a huge Hull FC fan, so we knew we had to make this project extra special for him.

“At the core of The Rix Group is our dedication to providing excellent customer service. Being a family-run business, we value the relationships we develop with each and every client across the multitude of industries we operate in. Victory Conversions is no exception.”

Victory Conversions also hired a VIP box in the hospitality lounges, giving Wes the opportunity to experience Hull FC’s recent home match with Leeds Rhinos from the very best seats in the house.

Oliver added: “A huge thank you must go to everybody at Hull FC and the Community Foundation for making the day extra special for Wes. Our thanks also go to the wider team at Victory Conversions for the fantastic work on the van.”

Jayden Okunbor also commented: “I was really taken aback by Wes’ approach to life.

“Even though he is non-verbal, he made a few cheeky jokes through his communication interface, and even asked if we could go for a drive in the van.

“I love stories like this, where local companies can work with sports clubs to have a positive impact on the lives of people who deserve to have a smile put on their face. I was just really glad to have been a part of it.”
