Yusuf Aydin is clear on helping delivering high standards as he prepares to embark on his first full season at Hull FC.
Hull’s players have been put through their paces in two sessions of pre-season training so far, with the intensity set to increase as the weeks go by.
There are plenty of new faces at the training ground as preparations gear up for 2025, with the likes of John Cartwright and Andy Last leading the field sessions.
Speaking to hullfc.com, Aydin is feeling a different vibe around the place after the first couple of days of pre-season training.
“It’s been a refreshing and exciting start. There’s definitely been a lot of positive change around the place,” he said.
“It’s very noticeable and clear what the intent is for 2025 and we’ve had a positive start to pre-season.
“He [John Cartwright] was very adamant and strong on setting high standards right throughout, as well as the values we place on ourselves and every single person at the club, whether that’s a team mate, a coach or a member of staff.
“We must make sure that whatever we do both on and off the field is for the benefit of the club as a whole and that’s got to be our attitude.”
Aydin joined the Black & Whites in April, just a couple of months into the 2024 campaign, and made an instant impression amongst Hull FC supporters.
He was voted the club’s Player of the Month in July by the fans, after joining from cross-city rivals Hull KR.
But the Turkish international is unwilling to rest on his laurels after a strong start to his time at the MKM Stadium.
He’s more than determined than ever to keep his game moving on an upward trajectory, as he explained his motivation to continue improving.
“Just after last year, we just can’t allow that to happen again. So I’ve been working hard in the off-season to make sure I can put my best foot forward at the start of pre-season,” he said.
“I still feel like there’s plenty for me to give out on the field in 2025. I believe I can take my own game to another level this season and that’s with the benefit of the whole club in mind.
“It would be really nice to be able to see the people who watch us from the stands with smiles on their faces again and we’ll be giving it everything to make sure we can deliver for them – that’s the main thing and it all comes back to those standards that Carty discussed with us from the get go.”
