Hull FC, in partnership with FC Voices, held their annual Service of Remembrance at the MKM Stadium on Saturday morning.
The service, which was led by Club Chaplain the Reverend Tony Cotson, was attended by representatives from 150 Regt RLC, CESA & The Police Standard Bearers, and the Hull Standard Bearers Association, as well as the Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber, Councillor Mark Collinson, and Lady Mayoress Councillor Christine Randall.
Music was played by members of the East Riding Brass Band, including Abide With Me, and club anthem Old Faithful, before attendees observed a two minutes silence and the playing of The Last Post.
The service was an opportunity for the club and the wider community to remember the ultimate sacrifice given by so many in conflict – in particular those who were members of the Hull FC family.
The Black & Whites were represented by first-team player Davy Litten and personnel from across the club, including Veterans Officer Sarah Robinson and veterans who partake in the Hull FC Community Foundation’s various veterans programmes.
Members of supporters group FC Voices were also in attendance, alongside supporters.
Davy Litten laid a wreath on behalf of the club and the supporters of Hull FC at the Jack Harrison VC MC Memorial, while the Lord Mayor also laid a wreath on behalf of the city of Hull.
We will remember them.
