Club News

Following speculation of potential violence and disorder in the city of Hull this evening, Hull FC appeals for calm, cohesion, and tolerance within our communities.

We ask our supporters to stay safe by strictly avoiding any pockets of disorder that may occur across the city tonight and over the coming days.

The club was appalled by the violent and thuggish acts aimed at local residents, businesses and the emergency services on Saturday. We strongly condemn such behaviour and remind supporters that these acts do not represent the values of our welcoming, diverse and vibrant city or the values we uphold – racism, violence and vandalism simply has no place here.

We are encouraged to see convictions being brought against offenders so quickly, with those engaging in such acts rightly feeling the full force of the law. We were also heartened by the solidarity and resilience shown within our communities in response to the events of Saturday, with people of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs coming together to rebuild and demonstrate the spirit of the city of Hull.

The club would like to reassure our fans that Hull FC is committed to fostering inclusive, diverse and welcoming environments across the club and our Community Foundation, no matter race or religion.

This is emphasised by the tens of thousands of participants who engage with our Community Foundations’ various sessions every year, as well as the hundreds of players who represent our club across our 14 individual teams, including our Women and Girls, and Disability sides – all from a wide range of backgrounds.

The club offers a firm reminder to all that racism, violence and vandalism simply has no place in our great city and we unequivocally condemn such behaviour,

We once again thank Humberside Police and our wider emergency services for defending our communities.
